Requesting an "unattended" tow. A few important things to know
(disclaimer) Attention: it is never advisable to leave your vehicle if it is in the roadway, blocking or hindering the flow of traffic in any way. If no one is with the vehicle is is technically considered "abandoned". Vehicles abandoned on a road, it may be considered a "road hazard" in which case law enforcement will have it towed to impound immediately.

Sometimes we need to get our vehicle towed to a shop but are absolutely unable to meet the tow driver at the pickup. That is when you would call and request an "Unattended" tow. In this situation there are a few -very important- pieces of information that would be required.
The absolute and accurate location of your vehicle. An intersection or approximation is not sufficient. you need an address, or a "pin drop", or even Latitude and Longitude,
Complete contact information, the phone number where you will be reachable during service and for payment.
Description of your car, including the license plate and any other uniquely identifying features, such as a bumper sticker etc. Be sure to confirm your method of payment prior to setting up service.
The Key to the vehicle. it can be left in any number of common or creative locations, but it must be accessible to the service provider.
in our busy lives this type of service is very helpful. I am not able to say that all tow companies will allow an "unattended" tow, but somedo. The most important detail----- PAYMENT MUST BE RECEIVED BEFORE WE DROP YOUR VEHICLE.--- if we can not reach you, and dont receive a payment then we will take your vehicle into impound and it will cost you much more than just the tow.
